Gorgeous Gananoque, Canada to host NEW 1000 Islands Pond Hockey
and
World Pond Curling Championships
GANANOQUE, CANADA Ask a Canadian what it means to play their favourite
past times, hockey and curling outdoors, and they’ll be glad to tell
you…. “Real Fans Play Outdoors.” On February 4-6, 2011, the
Gananoque, Canada will play host to the new 1000 Islands Pond Hockey
Championship and the World Pond Curling Championship on the beautiful
St. Lawrence River. Teams from across Canada and around the world will
descend on the Gorgeous Gananoque to experience the hockey and curling
in the great outdoors.

Both the 1000 Islands Pond Hockey Championship and the World Pond
Curling Championship is being launched by the Thousand Islands
Accommodations Partners and in partnership with the town of Gananoque,
The Gananoque Inn & Spa and numerous corporate and local sponsors.
Co-organizer, Les Gagne is chillin’ with excitement to bring these
very cool outdoor events to the banks of the St. Lawrence in the heart
of the 1000 Islands. “What a great opportunity to getaway with your
friends, family and teammates to enjoy our Canadian Sports
“Pondarama” style while experiencing the fabulous hospitality
Gorgeous Gananoque has become known for.” In addition to the fast 4
on 4 hockey and World Pond Curling action, this winter weekend will
offer a lots to do for everyone including a Gigantic Christmas Tree
Campfire, Fireworks, Beavertails, Family Skating, Mascots on Ice and
much, much more.
