Yes, the Gananoque Skatepark is open, something is playing at 1000 Islands Playhouse ( Springer & Firehall Theatres), Jammin in the Islands is on in October, there’s lots of hotels, motels, restaurants in Gananoque, also lots of camping, cottages, boating, fishing, Gananoque Santa Claus Parade coming up November 27th – BUT for anyone local paying to advertise on a site why are you reading this?? Probably because it showed higher in Google listings that what you are paying for?. Maybe they should work for their money a little more?

Internationally renowned Classical music writer and broadcaster Eric Friesen is host to great musicians from around the world in this groundbreaking new Classical music series at the Thousand Islands Playhouse. This Tuesday evening series will feature noted CBC radio personality Eric Friesen in conversation with great musicians followed by a first rate concert, all in the relaxed and comfortable atmosphere of the Springer Theatre at the Thousand Islands Playhouse in Gananoque. Just picture yourself with a glass of local summer wine, listening to your favourite music, as the sun goes down over the St Lawrence River.

Swiss-born pianist Gilles Vonsattel, winner of the Walter W. Naumburg Foundation’s 2002 International Piano Competition, made his Lincoln Center debut that year at Alice Tully Hall, and has appeared as a soloist with the Utah Symphony, Naples Philharmonic, the Grand Rapids Symphony, the National Symphony of Ireland, the Boston Pops, and the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève. With repertoire that ranges from Bach’s Art of the Fugue to Xenakis, Mr. Vonsattel is an artist of uncommon breadth equally at home in solo and chamber music

Fish fry at Playhouse

Tonight, Friday 6th August, on the deck at Springer theatre 1000 islands playhouse.

$20 ticket ( I know it’s good fish but a bit pricey maybe for a fish/chips buffet?) and no kid pricing, so not really a good start to the Family Friendly Up The Creek festival ??

Grand Opening of new Gananoque Skate Park

The grand opening for the new Gananoque skate park is scheduled for Saturday, August 7th at the new facility beside the tennis courts near the recreation centre.

The opening ceremonies and ribbon cutting will begin at 1:00pm. Master of Ceremonies for the event is Karl Harries who will welcome local dignitaries, Gananoque Mayor, jim Garrah, Leeds Grenville MPP Steve Clark, Dixie O’Rellly from the Ontario Trillium Foundation and Susan Fournier from the 1000 Island Community Development Corporation.
