Mock emergency training exercise in Gananoque this month

On Thursday, October 25, 2012 organizations within the Town of Gananoque and the County of Leeds and Grenville will be participating in a mock emergency training exercise.

A mock training session has been funded by the province under the JEPP – Joint Emergency Preparedness Program. Upper and lower tier Municipalities are required to have an emergency plan and each year provide training, which is usually in the form of a table-top exercise.

This year the mock exercise will be hands-on involving Carveth Care Centre, Town Council and Staff, Leeds Grenville County Staff, Emergency Organizations such as the Leeds Grenville Emergency Medical Services, St. John Ambulance, Red Cross, Fire and Police Departments. The mock exercise is designed to see how well each organization’s emergency plan would work in a real life scenario.
