To help raise funds to help meet the shortfall of about $10,000 in funding for the new skate park, the 1000 Islands Playhouse has committed to donate the money raised from this Friday’s Curtain’s Up fundraising cabaret.
The Playhouse has five fundraising cabarets schedule for this year, explained Sandy Thorburn, currently the musical director for Blood Brothers.
The first, (as specified in the performing arts agreement) was for The Actors Fund of Canada; the second was for the Musical Theatre Development Fund at the Thousand Islands Playhouse, the third is for the Skateboard Park, the fourth is as yet undesignated and the fifth is for the Young Company.
