Freedom 85 at Springer Theatre, October 14 to Nov 6

“A touching, compelling story about aging and loss… it’s funny, sad, quirky and sweet all at once.”Bruce DeMara, Toronto Star freedom 85 at 1000 Islands Playhouse Theatre Gananoque
Meet Sybil, an extremely feisty 85-year-old English immigrant. Meet Kate, a wayward young woman who is trying to make a fresh start after a long struggle with personal demons. Together they plot the ultimate nursing home escape! Freedom 85 was originally developed and workshopped by the Thousand Islands Playhouse and Theatre Orangeville. The original one act version was produced at the Toronto Fringe Festival in 2008 and was the winner of the “Audience Choice Award” at the Frigid New York Festival in February 2009.
