United Way Announces 1st Annual Gananoque Gala
The United Way of Leeds & Grenville with the assistance of several funded agencies in the Gananqoue area are excited to host their first annual gala.
The Gananoque Gala, called Welcome to the Carnival! will be held at the Holiday Inn and Suites Express on King Street East, Gananoque on Thursday, October 14,, 2010 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m..
The event includes a reception where you will enjoy a complimentary glass of wine, hors d’oeuvres, keepsake wine glasses, silent auction, games of chance, fortune teller and a show provided by Hypnotist Robert Maxwell www.themagicallyhip.com for the price of $ 100.00 per couple, which includes a $50.00 charitable receipt.
Local restaurants will be supporting the event by donating food for the event. A silent auction will also be featured that evening with contributions to the table from local stores and establishments in the Gananoque area. Sleemans Breweries Ltd. has also come on board as a corporate sponsor for the event.
The organizing committee is made up of representatives from funded United Way agencies in the South Leeds area. Agencies such as Gananoque Youth Services, Gananoque & District Association For Community Living, CNIB and Boys and Girls Club all have tickets available for the event.
“The gala is an opportunity for the United Way to meet more of the Gananoque, South Leeds residents and we are billing it as a fund raiser but also a friend raiser”, says Judi Baril executive director of the Leeds & Grenville United Way. “We are grateful for the abounding support from local business in Gananoque and South Leeds, and this year they have come through for us to help make this event a huge success.”
One lucky ticket holder will also win a framed, signed and matted print from the John James Audubon collection valued at $2500.00.
