  • Open House Reception to welcome the Cangarda

    The Museum will be hosting an Open House Reception that day from 3:30 – 6pm as we welcome the 126′ “Cangarda” Steam Launch, built in 1901,dockside at the Museum, as she makes her first stop in Canadian waters since leaving in the early 1950’s.This vessel might be better known to some as the Magedoma. Senator George T. Fulford, of Brockville owned it from 1905 until the early 1950’s. It has been completely restored and is en-route to Brockville once again.

  • Chalk the Walk Festival

    Chalk the Walk Festival includes chalk art works, music, dancing and a play
    about wildlife.  All festivities to be held in the Town Park 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
    Theme of of this year’s festival is to draw how we could ‘change our world for
    wildlife’ in partnership with the Canadian Wildlife Federation.

    “We are thrilled that the festival has been drawn to our education campaign
    for the International Year of Forests , which
    encourages stewardship,” said Wade Luzny, CEO-Executive Vice President of the
    Canadian Wildlife Federation. “By adopting our education  theme, Change Your World For Wildlife, the festival is
    inspiring an appreciation of forests as important habitat for a wide variety of
    species.”

    All artists welcome to participate – children and adults – share your love of
    drawing or just come to take in the event.  Registration cost for a
    participating artist is $2.00, chalk is supplied free. Print a registration form

  • 1000 Islands Dock Dogs

    This event will take place in beautiful Gananoque, The
    Gateway To The 1000 Islands and will include the Fast N’ Furry Performance
    Team, 1000 Islands DockDogs and a Disc Trial. Participants will and spectators will
    be treated to a great weekend including dockdiving, a frisbee competition,
    demos as well as lots of vendors. It will be a weekend dedicated to our furkids
    and those who love them!
