Gananoque Police Weekly Report July 29th and August 4th, 2013

Gananoque Police Report  for the period between July 29th and August 4th, 2013.

Officers of the Gananoque Police Service investigated 117 occurrences during the seven day
period ending August 4th, 2013. This included 23 criminal occurrences, 2 motor vehicle
accidents, and 13 calls to 911 for assistance. 6 Traffic Stops were conducted resulting in 3
charges and 6 cautions under the Highway Traffic Act.
The Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (S.T.E.P.) for the month of July focused on
Speeding and Stop Signs. A total of 7 charges and 12 warnings were issued under this
program. For August, officers will be focusing on Cell Phones and Speeding.

August 2nd, 2013
On August 2nd, officers responded to a 911 call reporting a possible impaired driver stopped
at a King Street business. Officers attended and located the vehicle and driver. As a result of
the investigation a 64 year old female was issued a 3 day driver’s licence suspension.

August 2nd, 2013
Officers received a report of a bicycle being stolen from a Garden Street address sometime
overnight on August 2nd. Bicycle is a “Beachcomber” adult bike, single speed, red in colour,
with a banana style seat, high rise handle bars and whitewall tires. Anyone with information
is asked to call Gananoque Police.

August 4th, 2013
Officers responded to a 911 call from a King Street address advising of a domestic dispute
which had just occurred. An investigation resulted in a 21 year old male being arrested and
charged with 4 counts of Assault, 2 counts of Domestic Mischief and one count of Forcible
Confinement. The male was held for a bail hearing.

August 4th, 2013
Officers responded to a 911 call from a King Street West address advising of a domestic
dispute. An investigation resulted in a 42 year old female being arrested and charged with
assault. The female was held for a bail hearing.
