From Gananoque Reporter , Anne Craig

Looking for an event in the shoulder season, the Accomodation Partners ponied up some funds and created Jammin in the 1000 Islands, an event running Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

To sweeten the deal even further, the same group has come forward with more funding and now the event is completely free of charge.

“We also had the town come on board and the Rotary club gave us some funds,” Accomodation Partner chair Cliff Edwards said, noting the Lions and the TD Bank are also sponsors. “The BIA also wanted artists in their stores and they are now on board. A private citizen also offered us some funds. We are more than pleased with the support.”

Making the event free of charge is also key in Edward’s mind. “We want the community to enjoy the event and we also want to show off our community. We are making music everywhere this weekend.”

“We hope people will visit Gananoque and enjoy the weekend,” Edwards said. “I’m excited about what we are trying to do and we are working very hard to make it free.”
