Many thanks to the Gananoque Police Service for doing such a splendid job.
After attending the EXCELLENT performance of the Cinderella pantomime at the Firehall theatre in Gananoque we decided to call in at The Old English Pub for a quick pint. At this festive time of year, knowing that 1 pint can rapidly turn into 2 or 3 or 4 or 12, I decided to park my vehicle in the Municipal parking lot on Garden Street.
I foolishly decided upon leaving the pub that, rather than driving home after a couple of drinks, I would leave my van there overnight and walk, not realizing that overnight parking there is not permitted. I do know that now, because this morning I had a parking ticket.
So the question has to be, should I have driven home?
Obviously not, but I could have saved myself a $15 ticket by doing so. Could we not have some flexibility in the overnight parking rules, rather than the current situation which almost seems to force law breaking?
