The Rick Mercer segment on the Gananoque Pondarama taped February 6th in Gananoque will not air in tonight’s episode of CBC’s The Rick Mercer Report.
Pondarama organizer Lori Higgs said in an e-mail to BNTV/Brocknews on Monday, “The Gananoque segment appearing on the Rick Mercer Show will not be tomorrow night (Tuesday). They are hoping for Feb 22 but will confirm later this week.”
In addition to the Gananoque segment, 1000 Islands Dockdogs was co-host of Pet Funfest in Toronto this past weekend and Rick Mercer was there. 1000 Islands Dockdogs President Karen Larocque said that the Pet Funfest segment of the Rick Mercer report could also air Feb. 22 along with Gananoque’s Pondarama segment.

On February 4-6, 2011, in the heart of the 1000 Islands two new events, the 1000 Islands Pond Hockey Championship and the World Pond Curling Championship will unfold on the beautiful St. Lawrence River. Teams from across Canada and around the world will descend on the Gateway to the 1000 Islands, Gananoque ON, to experience both hockey and curling ‘in the raw’ on the St. Lawrence River.
Both the 1000 Islands Pond Hockey Championship and the World Pond Curling Championship are being launched in partnership with the 1000 Islands Accommodation Partners, the chamber, BIA, and numerous corporate, municipal and local sponsors.
What a stellar opportunity to get away with your friends, family and teammates to enjoy our Canadian Sports “Pondarama” style while experiencing the fabulous and famous Gananoque hospitality.
